Wenebegon Camp

Wenebegon Camp is located in the Wenebegon River Provincial Park, Fisheries Management Zone (FMZ) 10. It is the only outpost camp on the 27 sqkm lake (130 km shoreline) and is situated on an island. Wenebegon Lake is outlined with a rocky shore, dotted with islands, and home to an abundance of walleye and northern pike—a perfect backcountry fishing destination.

There are 3 boats available for your use. Each is outfitted with 9.8 hp 4-stroke Tohatsu outboard motor.

Camp Facilities

There are three buildings at Wenebegon Camp: a two-storey cabin, a screened-in fish cleaning hut, and an outhouse equipped with a Cinderella eco-incinerator toilet.

For instructions on how to use the Cinderella toilet, check out this helpful video (written instructions are also included in outhouse).

Upstairs, the cabin has 6 beds and 2 recently added windows for ventilation.

On the ground floor, there is a kitchen and dining area. The following amenities are provided:

  • A 9-cubic-foot propane refrigerator (with a small freezer)
  • 4-burner cook stove
  • Propane and LED lights
  • Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc.
  • And a propane grill (outside the cabin).

We recommend bringing coolers and ice in case there is not enough fridge space.

Our family was born and raised in Chapleau, Ontario and are closely connected to the outdoors. We grew up working and playing in the bush, enjoying the beauty of Northern Ontario.

And now we want to share that with you (minus the working part). We hope you enjoy your time in the great, wild North.
